CPI is a catalyst for the adoption of advanced technology and manufacturing solutions. It brings together academia, businesses, government and investors to turn bright ideas and research into marketable products.
Cleanrooms play a significant role in developing advanced technologies for sectors such as healthcare and pharmaceuticals. We were approached by CPI to modify an existing Class 1000 cleanroom at its Sedgefield complex. The cleanroom needed to remain operational during the renovation process.
We delivered a turnkey solution, overseeing the cleanroom's design and upgrade. Our internal design team worked closely with the CPI to create a solution that minimised costs and ensured that a portion of the cleanroom remained operational throughout the project.
We implemented an airtight temporary isolation system in a section of the cleanroom to maintain a Class 1000 environment during the ongoing modifications.
The non-operational section of the cleanroom underwent a comprehensive overhaul. This process included:
Throughout the process, we assumed full responsibility for the project’s health, safety, and environment (HSE) requirements. This guaranteed a safe working environment for all personnel.
We also provided a comprehensive set of as-built drawings, test certificates, and a certificate of conformance to the specified requirements.
Our experience and expertise in cleanroom design and construction were instrumental in delivering a successful solution. We completed the works without any impact on CPI's existing activities, meaning staff could maintain operational continuity. We also future-proofed the cleanroom by including provisions for the M&E systems to support additional tools.
Northern Engineering has worked with us for more than 10 years and we always get a successful outcome.
